Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art… It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival. – C.S Levis

I am fortunate enough to be good friends with Kin Canada’s  National President (2012-2013).

As such, I have also been fortunate enough to photograph her for her National Campaign and then head shots when she came into office. I was then further honoured when she asked me to photograph her 1st grandchild Kayl. I have never seen a more enthusiastic grandmother around. Kayl was a sweet boy to photograph, and can you believe, mom pushed him out naturally without any help. Not even an epidural and he was 9lbs and 11.5 ozs.

When I think of this mother the first word that comes to mind is STRONG. It is not often that you run into a young mom that is so dedicated and excited about motherhood. -“I love your long hair, your little fingers & toes your beautiful eyes & your cute button nose I look at you & all I can do is smile, knowing your my beautiful child.  I love you Logan I will do anything in this world for you always & forever.” I am so proud of this young lady, she has overcome such a heart-rendering event in her life with her first born-“feels so blessed to have the chance to be a mother again, for having such a supportive positive family surrounding me …..still miss & love our ceili baby everyday ”

Needless to say that when I found out she was pregnant with Logan I had to do her Maternity Pictures and I had to take Pictures of Logan after he was born. I will share her Maternity Later but today I want to share this sweet little ray of sunshine. He made my heart melt today and made me so grateful that I am so blessed with such loving people in my life.

So if you know a young mom just like this amazing mom-to-be who has an amazing story to share, send her my way because I just might be able to brighten her day.

  • Beth Johnson Photography - I love every one of these! You have such lovely newborn work!

I decided to participate in project 12 with fellow photographers but this is actually my first attempt at it. It’s going to be more like project 6 for me in the end. Life is a balance, family, work, and fun and sometimes I focus so much on the first two that I forget about the last. Actually this shoot was a combination of work and fun and when I was prepping for it I thought of the theme for March which is GREEN. This session was really fun for me and we had it planned for a while. Makeup Artistry by Dana did the makeup which was beyond amazing (if you need a makeup artist in Edmonton, I HIGHLY recommend her). I decided to go with a bad girl, good girl theme for their makeup just to give the shoot a little more character. The clients: Twins from River City Fitness who asked ME to do this special session for them. I was so honoured that they wanted me to capture this memory for them. They both have 2 other children but never have they been pregnant at the same time (never mind due within a few weeks of each other). And Yes, they are twins, and for a long time I could never tell them apart.

Okay This one doesn’t have green in it, but I liked it.
